  • Woolever, Leonard (son of David and Elizabeth (Sebren) Woolever)10th Illinois Calvary. Wounded during capture of little Rock, Sept 10, 1863. His horse was shot out from under him and his foot was severely damaged. He was discharged Mar 9, 1865.

Larry Dean Gregory

DECATUR - Larry Dean Gregory, 66, of Decatur, IL, died 4:45 a.m., Thursday, January 22, 2009, following a long battle with lung cancer. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Monday, January 26, 2009, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 4 to 7 pm, Sunday, January 25, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Little Flock Cemetery, Moweaqua, IL, with military graveside rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church. Special thanks to DMH Hospice Cancer Care and to Dr. Guaglianone. Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com. Larry was born Oct 10, 1942 in Moweaqua, IL to Ward and Hildreth (Sheppard) Gregory. He graduated from Eisenhower High School before joining the US Marine Corps. He served his country proudly as an Embassy guard in Athens, Greece and spent two tours in Vietnam. He was retired from IBEW #146 and was employed for over 25 years at Bodine Electric. Larry was a member of the American Legion, the Marine Corps League, and Calvary Baptist Church. Larry was married to Karen Sue Hutchens Humphrey. After her death, he married Elaine Carr Deffenbaugh. He leaves his wife Elaine; son Darren Gregory of Savannah, GA; stepson Eric Humphrey of Osceola, IA; stepdaughters Leslie Reveles (Ivan) and Andrea Ramirez (Josh) of Indianapolis, IN; Dawn Deffenbaugh, Bethany, IL and seven grandchildren; Brandi Vanderlaan, Ivy Ramirez, Amber (Matt) Daniel and Ricky Trimby, Gunnar and Ali Gregory, and Emily Deffenbaugh. Sisters; Lori Bockwoldt (Keith), Bellingham, Wash; Kelli (Ron) Eckhardt, Ogden Utah and Donna Gregory of Salt Lake City, Utah; Aunt; Virginia Gregory, Macon, IL; extended family Richard (Barb) Gregory, Connie Gadbury, Sharon Hutchens, John (Jan) Carr, Ray (Judy) Carr, Harry (Kathy) Kracht, Brian Carr and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Sue, mother Hildreth Sheppard Coffman and stepfather Frank Coffman and his father Ward Gregory and stepmother Joyce Scovill Gregory. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR and will be missed by his many friends and family members who enjoyed these activities with him. Lyndal Arnold

CATLIN – Lyndal W. Arnold, 70, of Catlin passed away at 4:16 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, in rural Fairmount as the result of an automobile-train accident.

He was born July 3, 1938, in Danville, to Loval W. and Eva Donley Arnold. He married Carolyn I. Strange on June 29, 1959, in Danville. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Larry W. (Jeanette L.) Arnold of Oakwood, and one daughter, Charlotte Arnold Christin of Rockville, Md. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Larry W. Arnold II, Brielle J. Arnold and Nikolai Alexander Christin.

He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Modisty K. Arnold.

Lyndal had been an International Truck salesman for 40 years, most recently with Prairie International of Champaign. He was a 32nd-degree Mason and a member of the Catlin Masonic Lodge, and a past Master of the lodge. He was a member of Danville United Church of Christ, where he had served as a deacon.

He was an Illini football fan, and enjoyed NASCAR and Indy 500 racing. He was a "great grandpa" and was always "working a deal."

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Danville.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Robison Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the Danville United Church of Christ or the Arnold family for the grandchildren's education.
